CAMI Research Inc.(Acton, MA) manufacturer of the CableEye® automation-ready cable and harness test system, has released an HV-rated test interface board that can be customized with LIF test blocks and any number of panel- and/or cable-mounted connectors not exceeding a total of 128 pins. First introduced thirty years ago, this line of generic boards has earned a reputation among test engineers worldwide as a reliable workhorse for demanding test interfaces. The CB60 continues this legacy, combining durability with flexible configuration options for higher pin counts and test voltages. CAMI has decades of experience tailoring solutions to customerspecific requirements, and offers customization service. Rated to 2100 Vdc/1200 Vdc. Connectors not included.

Configuration

A leader in the development of PC-based cable and wire harness test systems, CAMI offers the CableEye suite of products complete with accessories – including auto-detected, plug-in connector boards for fast, convenient set-up and testing of standard cables. There is an extensive and growing stock library of these test fixture boards – several of which are populated with families of connectors, such as the video market’s CB16A for BNC, SMB, SMA, and N connectors. Many boards are sold unconnectorized, a high proportion of which are configured for specific connectors, such as the CB41 through CB44 for Micro D connectors. The CB8 led the way thirty years ago for the family of generic boards CB8, CB8H, CB30, and now the CB60, designed to accept an incredible range of connectors.

When pre-populated and pre-configured boards are used, the tester GUI automatically displays a graphic of the connectors and wiring under test. The tester can be readily programmed to do the same for custom boards and fixtures. These boards are designed to fit all CableEye testers.

This CB60 generic custom interface board accepts a wide range of circular or other connectors and accommodates LIF test blocks and bulkhead and/or cable-mounted mating connectors. While a bulkhead connector mounted directly to the board produces a more compact interface, a cable-mounted solution would be preferred if the test cable consists of heavy-gauge wire or is bulky. Any panel-mount circular connector with four mounting holes fits the “X”-pattern slots. Total pin count cannot exceed 128.

Sold as a set of two boards, each test board may be paired with other CableEye adapter boards to accommodate any combination of connectors. Incredibly versatile, CableEye testers are expandable to accommodate large and complex harnesses, and users can connect and configure them in numerous ways — set up an array of QuickMount™ Housings fitted with connector boards, plug custom interface cables directly into any of the 64 pin headers on the control and expansion modules, or use a test interface panel, perhaps on a rack-mounted system. Not just a tester, a CableEye test system is a complete cable management system offering features not available on any other cable test equipment, and may be used to test unlimited types of connectors.

Exacting Reporting Standards

CableEye software allows customers to meet the most exacting reporting requirements of government-contracted and ISO 9000-style certified companies.

Warranty

All connector boards are included in CAMI’s standard, renewable warranty of the tester for which it was purchased.
